If you haven’t heard, Star Wars CCG is an out of print game. That might lead you to believe that it is impossible to buy or at least buy cheaply, but if you did, you’d be wrong! Now is a great time to get into this game, especially if you check out another article on ATL SWG: Cheap But Competitive Decks for Beginners. A second reason that SWCCG is a cheap card game to get into is that the cards retain both their monetary and gameplay value. The Players Committee rarely hinders a competitive deck and makes it non-competitive. For example, 2 years ago a Carbon Chamber Testing deck won the Match Play Championship and just a month ago, a similar CCT deck came in 2nd place at the World Championship. |

Okay, so here's the transcript of the SWMGamers.com chat with Rob and Sarah that I reported on earlier. For those of you who don't already know, Sarah Richey is the Star Wars Miniatures Brand Manager (she explains what that means in the chat) at Wizards of the Coast and Rob Watkins is the Star Wars Miniatures Lead Designer. Lots of good information in here so I hope you enjoy. |

Tomorrow, Sunday November 9th, beginning at 1:00PM EST, there will be a Star Wars Miniatures tournament held at Dr. No's Comics and Games in Marietta. It is a 200 point constructed event with prizes being awarded. If you already play Star Wars Miniatures, we'd love to have you out there. If you do not already play Star Wars Miniatures, we'd especially love to have you out there for a few reasons.
First, and foremost, the Tournament Organizer (me) is not allowed to actually play in the tournament. So that means that I will be sitting there, all alone, until someone needs a ruling or has a question. In order to make my time more enjoyable, I usually setup a map and some miniatures to teach others to play. Those people who take the time to sit down and learn to play get to play a skirmish against either myself or someone else who is learning, and you get to do so without incurring the normal table fee associated with playing games in the store. In other words, you get to learn how to play, and then try out everything you learned against an opponent, for free. You also get to meet other Star Wars fans and gamers in your area. There are those amongst us who play multiple games, not just miniatures, and you may find yourself increasing the player base of your favorite game just by showing up. Those are very good reasons to attend, if you ask me, but there is another reason that we'd like to have you there. |

So you're a Star Wars fan and gamer, or maybe you're just a Star Wars gamer, and you found your way here because you felt a disturbance in the Force or by some other means... but there is so much on this site that you find lacking. Or maybe you think the site is great, but you'd really like to see more written about your favorite Star Wars table top game "Revenge of the Ewoks".
And who wouldn't want to read about some ravenous little balls of fur who go on a murderous rampage across the galaxy, all easily played out on your kitchen table? Maybe you read one of the existing articles about the CCG or the Miniatures game, but you have a completely different opinion than the author? Unfortunately, none of the current people writing articles know anything at all about that favorite "deranged Ewoks" game of yours and, no matter how strong we may or may not be in the ways of the Force, we haven't yet been able to master the ability to read your mind. Fortunately, you have the power to change all of that. |
