Where to Buy: SWCCG

If you haven’t heard, Star Wars CCG is an out of print game.  That might lead you to believe that it is impossible to buy or at least buy cheaply, but if you did, you’d be wrong!  Now is a great time to get into this game, especially if you check out another article on ATL SWG: Cheap But Competitive Decks for Beginners.  A second reason that SWCCG is a cheap card game to get into is that the cards retain both their monetary and gameplay value.  The Players Committee rarely hinders a competitive deck and makes it non-competitive.  For example, 2 years ago a Carbon Chamber Testing deck won the Match Play Championship and just a month ago, a similar CCT deck came in 2nd place at the World Championship.

Online Stores

Online stores are one of the best ways to buy SWCCG!  There are multiple online stores that specialize in SWCCG which provides us with a healthy market and very competitive pricing.  Here are the top stores:

Category One Games:  C1G owner Scott is very active in the SWCCG community and runs a great business with competitive prices and great selection.  Furthermore, he has a great collection of all commons & uncommons along with used cards he sells for half price.  As he says, “Stack the deck at C1G!”

Hill’s Wholesale Gaming:  Hill’s does not have a large selection of singles, but they’ve got a great selection of sealed product and everything is well priced.  Lastly, if you want to get a full working collection of SWCCG, there is hardly anything better than their "SWCCG: Reflections II Complete Foil Card Set + 130 Foil Cards."

CCG Obsession:  I personally haven't ever bought from Obsession (although I can relate with the name), but I've had it recommended to me multiple times so they must be good!  Also, they've recently been expanding their selection so you should definitely check them out.  They've got a lot of singles in stock.

EBay Auctions

Buying off eBay is another great way to get SWCCG.  If you are patient, you can find some of the best deals on its normal auction function.  There are also multiple eBay stores that specialize in SWCCG.  Here is a list of some of those stores:

Julie'sToys&Collectibles (2k+ cards)

JLock's Store (1k+ cards, only sell's SWCCG)

Gandalf's Cart (1k+ cards)

Wild Things Games (250+ cards, many of the rarer ones for good prices)

Trading Card Universe (200+ cards)

Player’s Committee Forums

The PC Forums have a Trading forum where many cards and sold and traded.

Another great place to buy which probably currently has the best prices out of anything listed on this page is PC volunteer Brad Eier’s “garage sale”.  For instance, most “EPP” mains are $5-15 while he has them from $1-3.

Let me know if you have a great experience with any other SWCCG merchant so I can add them to this list!

The issue with buying cards through an auction, for me, is that I don't exactly know the monetary value of the cards that I'm looking at. Sure, that Emperor Palpatine cards looks cool... but is it really worth 5 whole dollars?!?!?

So how do I know if I'm getting a good deal or if I'm being ripped off? Is there an online resource for discovering the monetary value of cards?
